The Way of Harmony
Aikido is taught with the individual in mind. The instructors offer a personal approach that ensures safety in training. These classes are non-competitive with everyone advancing through the grades at their own pace.
All black belts will readily spend time with you on any problem concerning Aikido and your training.
A structured grading syllabus is taught at all classes with gradings being held every 3 to 4 months. You will be invited to attend grading examinations on merit not on time served.
Since our martial art is based on self-defence, techniques concerning your protection to be used against an attacker are also taught
Weapons and defence against weapons is also taught in classes with higher graded students defending against staff, knife or sword.
From your first lesson and onwards, students are asked to attempt what they feel capable of. Even in the warm ups and warm downs no one is pushed beyond their limits. All black belts and senior brown belts are always available to offer advice and help.
Fully qualified first aiders are on hand who have had a full CRB check.
